Deacon Family Ministry

Since we think of ourselves as a family of Christians, we believe it is essential that every member feels valued and supported. That's why a group of lay ministers called deacons is set aside for a special kind of work. Each member or household of our church is assigned to a deacon, who takes personal responsibility for seeing that individual ministry needs are met. Working with the staff ministers, deacons help folks during times of sickness, grief, or discouragement (and they share a lot of happy times, too). At Woodburn, we want to ensure that everyday people have their everyday needs met-every day. That's what deacon Family Ministry is all about.
Feel free to call your deacon.

Our deacons serve on a rotation basis, with each deacon serving a term of three years.  There is a lapse of at least one year before a deacon is eligible for reelection. Even if your deacon is on the inactive list, remember he is always ready to serve God and our church families.
