Tim Harris – Senior Pastor

I absolutely love being a pastor. Preaching is part of what I do, but it’s not the largest part. I like caring for people. I like to share Christian faith, hope, and love with others. I am a native of Woodburn, the very community in which I serve. I am a graduate of  Western Kentucky University (BFA, painting), and I earned graduate degrees at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville (the M.Div. in 1992, the Ph.D. in 1996). My wife is a nursing instructor at WKU. We think our son is the greatest.

Warren Weeks – Minister of Education and Administration

God calls each of us to use the gifts, talents and abilities He gives us for His Glory. I am excited to serve the Lord at Woodburn in leading the Christian education ministry and church administration. My desire is for Woodburn Baptist to be an influence in our community and in the world by shaping lives through the teaching and application of God’s Word. I have served churches in Texas and South Carolina. I am a graduate of Southern Tech in Georgia and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. I love my family. My wife, Margie and I have four children; Amanda (married to Chris), David (married to Ryn), Martha, and Emily and five grandchildren Sam, Addy, Scarlett, Mara and Alice. Let me know how I can help you find a Small Group or answer any question you may have about the church.

Matt Betts – Youth and Young Adult Pastor

Family: My wife is Dawn. She is incredibly awesome to put up with me. I have three daughters, Kaylyn, Savannah, and Addison. We also have a baby on the way! Came on WBC Staff: February 2012 Favorite thing about Woodburn: I love the family atmosphere here along with the amazing faith in God and focus on the next generation. It is a great place to worship and raise a family. In my free time, I like to: run, cook, eat, watch Ole Miss Rebels football, fish (don’t get to do this much – hint, hint), spend time with family and friends, watch movies. Food I love the most: Ribeye Steak! Any kind of pie!

Rod Ellis – Worship Pastor

Few things bring me greater joy than being able to see the people of God connect with their Savior and one another in worship. And I’ve never seen a place do that like we do at WBC. I dream of a time when we are training up Spirit-led, filled, empowered worship leaders by the droves. I can’t imagine a better place to do that than here. On a more personal note, I’ve been married to one of my heros, Jackie, since 1987. We have two stunning daughters, Catherine (Go C-A-T-S!) and Emily (Go Spartans!) and a dog–Cooper, the son I’ll never have.

Nichole Buckman – Director of Children’s Ministries

I started volunteering with children’s ministry when I was a youth in my home church and have felt that was where God has called me to serve all along. My husband, Matt, and I were high school sweethearts who got married in 2007 and came to Kentucky to make it our home. We have one son, James, and two dogs who are treated more like children rather than pets. A verse I learned when I first started volunteering was 1 Timothy 4:12 where the Bible tells us, “Do not let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” The adult volunteer I was working with shared that verse with me and reminded me that, at any age, you can love and serve the Lord.
